National Institute
for the Family

Picture

The National Institute for the Family is a Catholic research and development organization. Fr. Donald Conroy, Dr. Lauri Przybysz and Dr. John Przybysz make up the Executive Team of NIF.  We offer consultation, program design, resources, and partnership opportunities for family life ministry across the lifespan. Catholics For Family Peace is a major initiative of NIF.

The National Institute for the Family (NIF) is a non-profit, tax exempt organization committed to establishing grassroots initiatives that will bring about a global change for the good of families and support sustainable and regenerative approaches to life, community, and the environment. The National Institute for the Family was founded some 40 years ago with the approval of the United States Catholic Conference of Bishops (USCCB) under the invitation and approval of the Cardinal Archbishop of Washington with acknowledgement and listing in the Official Catholic Directory under the Archdiocese of Washington.

We embrace the mission of the family expressed by Pope Francis:
“The family is thus an agent of pastoral activity through its explicit proclamation of the Gospel and its legacy of varied forms of witness, namely solidarity with the poor, openness to a diversity of people, the protection of creation, moral and material solidarity with other families, including those most in need, commitment to the promotion of the common good and the transformation of unjust social structures, beginning in the territory in which the family lives, through the practice of the corporal and spiritual works of mercy.” All this is an expression of our profound Christian belief in the love of the Father."         (The Joy of Love, 2015, #290)

NIF is a member of the National Association of Catholic Family Life Ministers. Our other current collaborations include:
         The Grandmothers’ Corp
·         The Lord’s Day Alliance
·         The International Confederation of Christian Family Movements
·         Christian Family Movement-USA
